THE INTERNATIONAL PRIMARY CURRICULUM – BOOTH # 16

What is the mission of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC)? Great learning, great teaching and great fun!

The IPC is built on learning goals that help children learn academically, develop personally and grow internationally. Each unit is fantastically teacher-friendly, freeing teachers from much of the unnecessary layout planning while allowing them to become as innovative as they want. It is one of our aims that IPC teachers can focus on learning and not curriculum writing. Contained in more than 70 units of work are hundreds and hundreds of brain-friendly, tried and tested activities that make classrooms great places to be.

The IPC has been in use in schools all over the world for the past two and a half years. It has proven to be successful from Belgium to Siberia to Monterey, California. The International School of Monterey charter school has taught for understanding using the IPC since it opened in 2001 and in just two years became the 2nd highest scoring elementary school in the District! Proof that California state standards are being met.

The International Primary Curriculum has a great pedigree. It’s part of the Fieldwork Education organisation, which also provides training and consultancy, school management services and on-line professional development to schools in the USA, Europe, the Far East and elsewhere. It has extensively reviewed in universities, by campaigns for learning and, most importantly, by all of its members.

The IPC is delighted to be a Gold Sponsor of this conference. We are passionate about learning and we support the great work going on in the charter school movement. We know that the IPC can be a real force in helping teachers assist students develop ‘good to great’ learning.

The IPC is represented at CCSA by Martin Skelton, the founding director, Andrew Wigford, the current director, Sue Willmott, the membership and marketing manager, and Dennis Hallahane, our chairman. We are looking forward to experiencing the conference with you and to sharing all of the benefits the IPC can bring to your school.

MOSAICA

Mosaica Education, Inc. is one of the nation's leading educational service providers and was founded to develop and operate charter schools throughout the country. Mosaica's schools bring the benefits of competition and private sector efficiency to the public school system. Mosaica schools have yielded superior academic and financial results to date by utilizing a unique school design, which combines a proprietary curriculum called Paragon
®, with state-of-the-art technology and sound fiscal practices.

Founded in January 1997, Mosaica currently serves approximately 11,000 students in 43 elementary or middle school programs in seven states and the District of Columbia. The results on parent surveys administered nationwide indicate that parents are exceedingly satisfied with the education their children receive at Mosaica-managed schools.

From the outset, Mosaica's philosophy has embodied the principle that our educational program should be engaging, innovative and balanced. For example, our Paragon
® Curriculum is balanced with a structured morning program of basic skills instruction. Our focus on the innovative and extensive use of high technology in the delivery of instructional materials is balanced with the "high touch" of personalized learning plans, lower student-teacher ratios and child-centered curricular offerings.

Our schools reflect the diverse demographics of the populations they serve. From urban centers, to suburban and rural areas, Mosaica has successfully implemented its program and generated impressive results on standardized tests, while utilizing a curriculum that is anything but a "teach-to-the-test" approach to education.

Mosaica's home office is located at 1050 Northgate Drive, Suite 190, San Rafael, CA 94903.

Additional information on Mosaica is available on our web site, http://www.mosaicaeducation.com. For further assistance, please call (415) 491-1305, ext: 103.
